Sponsors....PLEASE

I started this little blog about 4 years ago when I got engaged. It has become a diary of my life and I use it more than my journal, which used to be my best friend.

I have been blogging about my life and more recently motherhood and all the joys of raising a daughter. I write about books that I have read, post pictures that I have taken, and write about what's been on my heart.

Whether you want to swap or purchase an ad, I would be very grateful for you to sponsor me!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Dear Hubby: Thanks so much for this week. I know how busy you were, but I'm so great-full that you come home in a happy mood!  I'm so proud of everything that you gave us. I'm excited for you to do the Tough Mudder. Lilly and I will cheer you on!!
Dear Lilly: You are precious! I'm so impressed with you. You are beginning to laugh, smile and study things. I love how it looks like you are watching T.V., well maybe you are. I love how you are studying how things work. It makes me laugh when I utter a phase that makes you crack up. I prayed for you this week and hope that you will be able to have great friendships as you grow up. I can't believe we are almost at 4 months! Thank you for cheering me on while I run and for going with the flow.

Dear God: Thank you for convicting my heart. Thank you for my family, Steven, and Lilly. Thank you for loving me.
Dear Tone It Up: You have inspired me to do more than just run and yoga-cize. I love your workouts and they really work.

Book Review: Secrets of a Baby Whisperer

I've been reading a lot of parenting books and I have found that they are easy to listen to on CD.
Secrets of a Baby Whisperer...
was a great book. Not my favorite, but it did have a lot of great points. I probably would have enjoyed it more if I was pregnant because it gave great tips on breast feeding and how to prepare for motherhood. Tracy Hogg's big thing is following the EASY plan. E for eating, A for activity, S for sleep and Y for you. I like that there incorporate you time into being a mother. She doesn't stand on one side or the other on scheduling babies, but she is a proponent for making sure that your baby's day is predictable. I really agree with this because as a teacher, I know the importance of predictability in schedules and how hard it is to be flexible, even as an adult.

She does mention not always solving your baby's cry with feeding, which I do and don't agree with. She says that it can confuse the baby's cues and when they are actually tired, the begin to cry as if they were hungry because they are used to feeding to sleep. I can understand this point, but Little Miss is so little right now and it isn't always that I have to feed her to sleep. I love the cuddles and napping with her. I'm sure that sounds selfish, but I think it is a HUGE part of bonding.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone pregnant or thinking about becoming a parent, and also to those who may not have a grasp on what kind of parent they want to become.  I already know that I stand on the side of attachment parenting, but it was good to hear that there are some things that I am doing a good job at...according to Hogg.

Next Mommy Read is Becoming Babywise..Dunh Dunh DUNH!!!

What's New Scooby Doo?

I feel like it has been a while since I have written what is going on in my life. So here I go.

What's New Scooby Doo?

Well...we are currently almost moved in. This weekend we will be getting our couch and a nice rug for the living room.
I have been enjoying much needed time with my mommy group and we have moved toward doing walks in the morning. It has been nice to just walk and talk with like minded mommies. I can't believe before long I will have a toddler.

Little Miss has found her voice and I love hearing her coo and blabber. Hubby and I make up stories that she is saying. I'd really LOVE to know what she is actually saying.
This week she also started wearing size 3 diapers...oh my...she is growing too fast.

I have been doing relatively well with my reading with She Reads Truth. We are currently in Proverbs. It has really helped me to realize how much I love to gossip and keep bringing up other people's business. It really is sick that I find pleasure in rehashing out issues. But admitting it is the first part, right? This will definitely be something that  I continue to work through. I find myself bringing up pain from the past just to filter and play with it, why?! I don't know. I'm not bored, but it would appear that I am. I need to remember to read Proverbs when I am struggling with an issue as it tends to bring up great advice. I mean the whole book is on wisdom and folly.

I've been doing a lot more with Tone It Up. I love their workouts and they sure do work! My favorite is the Barre workout with Renee. I keep reminding myself that not everyone gets the chance to birth a baby and I really need to be great-full for that. I love that I can still run and workout and be healthy.

Thanks for reading!!!
