We've been juicing up a storm. Looks like this may be a pricey adventure ;).
My favorite juices so far:

It's so refreshing especially after a hard run.
I can't wait because this week we are going to try watermelon and cucumber water.
I can't wait to have it after my run on Sunday.
This week I also made some yummy healthier foods including Oat Protein Pancakes and Ground Chicken Meatloaf.

Our word for this year...
As January arrived, I saw a lot of bloggers writing what their word for this year was going to be. And naturally I wanted to join in.
I saw some great ones,
Love
Trust
Patience
I thought oooh, Fresh Start, Growth, New...
But then I realized I was rushing into this.
I thought I really should pray and look for opportunities: What is God teaching me?
With being a blogger, I find myself constantly on my phone. And being a SAHM doesn't help either.
I was created for connection, but I treasure being able to be with my daughter, so I need to unplug.
I found myself also wanting to do EVERYTHING. What church groups are going on? How many playdates can I attend? What is one more friend?
But at some point you lose it because you can't do it all 100%. Something suffers.
So this year we decided as a family our word would be:
Intention!!
We need to be intentional about the time we spend with each other.
About the friendships we keep.
About the moments we have.
Life is short and we say that often, but do we live like it is?
This has really hit a chord in my beating heart.
I want to be intentional about what I read, see, do, hear, participate in, and so on.
Am I expecting perfection (yes, but I'm working on that too)? No. I need to realize each day is a a gift and I need to spend it well. At the end of the day I want to rest with no regrets.
I am excited about this year.

Week 4 Fitness
Well here is another week gone since hitting 2013. I am feeling like I am now in the habit of eating healthy and feeling fit.
But I got hit with a big realization!!
I'm not doing this for anyone, but for myself.
Its fun to show off what you have done and what you accomplished, but I have to take a step back and not let that fuel my healthy lifestyle.
I have never felt better, I have a lot more energy and I'm not feeling like caca after a meal because its not full of butter and grease (the occasional burger never did anyone harm, right:).
It feels good seeing my family eating well and feeling good because of what we are eating and how we are eating.
Eating together as a family is so important. It doesn't always happen, but we try to always sit at the table (starting this year, its never too late).
It helps to have a healthy lifestyle, when everyone is doing it together. Thats why accountability programs like Weight Watchers works. Because you are doing it with someone else.
If you haven't heard it enough, I love My Fitness Pal.
I love encouraging others and seeing their growth and accomplishing so much!
I think my favorite part is that at the end of the day you can see how much protein, vitamin A and C, iron, and calcium you got. I like that because it shows me how I'm eating.
My husband has really been getting excited about eating healthy. The other night he watched Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead, a documentary about the benefits of juicing.
So........ it looks like we are getting a juicer :)
Here is my week in fitness. I have been following the Tone It Up girls on their Love Your Body campaign to Valentines Day and also incorporating some extra runs.
Saturday:
Sunday:
Monday: Wild Child Workout,
Tuesday: 8 mile run with Cupid Cardio for the first 4; Love your Body/Love Your Legs/Love your Abs Workout (2x each)
Wednesday: Cocktail Workout; 5 mile run with Date Night Cardio
Thursday: Morning Yoga with Tara Stiles; Booty workout with Jeanette Jenkins
Friday: (planned) Early Morning Run (2-3 miles), yoga or a walk
How is your week in fitness and health going?

Don't Wake A Sleeping Baby
WARNING!!
The following post is written from a personal standpoint and is not meant to judge or criticize anyone.
I was so good about reading up on attachment parenting BEFORE Lilly was born, so I was so confident in my parenting style.
I guess I didn't read enough because now that in the thick of it.
I feel lost.
I feel subject to people's criticism.
I feel sensitive
I feel unsuccessful.
I know that "all babies are different" but I can't seem to shake my need for striving toward perfection when I feel helpless.
I break down. I stress out. And I have a mopey session.
But rest assured. I have felt a weight lifted off my shoulders.
My confidence as a parent will never be found in perfection and I have to let it go.
I read an article on sleeping and realized its NOT my fault.
There is so much pressure to have a baby be independent so young and I have rooted my beliefs in attachment parenting because that works for us.
In this article by Dr. Sears, it states
"An important fact for you to remember is that your baby's sleep habits are more a reflection of your baby's temperament rather than your style of nighttime parenting. And keep in mind that other parents usually exaggerate how long their baby sleeps, as if this were a badge of good parenting, which it isn't. It's not your fault baby wakes up."
That is seriously all I needed to hear.
It's not my fault.
I'm not ruining my baby.
I also learned that the reason Lilly was waking up after 20 minutes was due to her sleep cycle. Babies don't fall into deep sleep right away. They have a period of light sleep beforehand.
I should have read this a while ago, but I glad I have now!!
I really want to stress that this isn't for everyone. Keep in mind, I'm that crunchy mom who had her baby at home in a tub ;)
How did you make it through sleepless nights with your little one?

Buffalo Blue Cheese Turkey Burgers
This year I really wanted to start healthier and as a family. we decided that we would eat healthier and also begin eating at the table. We usually eat dinner while watching Family Feud.
We decided that now that Lilly is really starting to eat foods we should start eating at the table.
Anyway I've been trying new recipes and using a lot of turkey and chicken and the occasional beef but it seems like it's always the same meal and I lack creativity. So on Rachael Ray, she had done Buffalo cauliflower tips and so I decided to do a spin on that and do buffalo blue cheese turkey burgers.
What I did was I went to the store and I bought the Red hot extra hot buffalo sauce, some reduced fat blue cheese crumbles and Bolthouse has a great yogurt bleu cheese dressing.
I prepared the turkey by combining half a bottle of red hot buffalo sauce and also combining about half cup blue cheese crumbles.
I use my hands got a little dirty and combined this and then created seven slider sized burgers I then put them in the fridge for about two and half hours to let the flavors marinate.
then I got my barbecue ready and barbecue then I made sure not to squish the burgers. If you squish your burgers and that pushes all the juices out and turkey burgers they don't have to much fat in them.
I left my barbecue about seven minutes on one side and seven minutes on the other but you just kind of have to watch it and then I decided to use lettuce wraps instead of buns just to save on carbs and then you send heirloom tomatoes some avocado and then I just hit it with the Bolthouse yogurt dressing and it was and Fantabulous!!
Recipe:
16 oz of Red Hot hot buffalo sauce
1 bottle Bolthouse Creamy Yogurt Bleu Cheese Dressing
2 lbs Ground turkey
1 small tub of reduced fat Bleu Cheese crumbles
Fixings:
Tomato
Avocado
Romaine Leaves (optional for use instead of a bun)

Valentines Shoot
I found this super cute pic on Pinterest and could let Valentines go by without completing it.
I lucked out and bought a red Lipstick the I actually like. It's Revlon British Red.
Unfortunately Lilly had kiss marks on her from it not washing off for a few days. But no allergic reaction. ,)
Here are a few pics!!
