Who knew breastfeeding was such a task. I assumed that Lilly Mae would just pucker up like a fish and latch on. Well, that was definitely not the case. It took a long time (3 days seems forever) to perfect the technique of breastfeeding. Even after the midwives spent 1 1/2 hour with me, I still wasn't giving her enough food. She was holding steady at her birth weight after 1 1/2 weeks, but thei wanted to see some more growth. Welp.. after last night, Lilly Mae know weighs 8 lbs 2 oz. Hooray. After feeling so defeated about not being able to get to feed Lilly Mae correctly, I finally feel great! Its a work in progress...and that is okay!
Now onto losing that baby weight!! :)
