50 Shades of Stupid: Head over Heels?

Today I'm linking up with one of my favorite bloggers: Julie from Funny thing of It Is.
She is super adorable and I love her heart! I'd like to think I'm like her, but that is probably wishful thinking.

Anyway, she is doing a post based on sharing something nerdy or stupid that we have done. Well I will first start out with one of the classics.

Head over Heels?

My family and most friends already know this story.

For some reason, I love to just throw it out in random conversation.

Me: "Oh ya, Steven has a bad back because I hit him with my car"
Them: "What?!"
Me: "Yeah, but his family also has back problems too."

I love stating that latter line because it makes it sound like no big deal.

Okay he goes the story.

When you are a 16 year old Christian girl, who doesn't party or 'get into trouble' what else is there to do?

Steven and I had no longer been dating during this time. We had recently broken up. This was the first time. You can read here for more about our dating.

I knew I 'loved' Steven. Even when we weren't dating I still prayed for him everyday. I truly cared about him. I know this sounds silly as a 16 year old, but I really did.

Well we were at a birthday party (don't worry no alcohol, just plain Christian fun). One of the boys wanted to make a funny video.

Steven suggested that he pretend to not notice and walk into the street just as a car hits him (I know what were we thinking).

So who got asked.

Yep. Me.

I hate pranks. Something always goes wrong. ALWAYS.

I've ruined concrete when I went to doorbell ditch. I been plastered with flour after TPing someone's house. IT NEVER GOES WELL for me.

So was this any different.....

They asked if I'd do it.

Heck no.

And then he asked.

How could I resist. Steven was so cute and my heart went pitter patter (sick I know, but I really did have a puppy dog love for him)

So away I went in my car making sure to drive slowly.

Steven was talking to one girl and went to step out in front of my car.

Maybe I was nervous and hit the gas or hit the brakes too hard.

But

BAAMMM!

Steven is on the hood of my car, shoe flying, and broken windshield.

It was just as bad as it sounds.

Stupid kids wanting to have some simple fun...I know.

I sat there frozen, in shock, mortified.

I was in trouble. BIG TROUBLE.

Luckily, Steven was okay, but it could have been really, really, really bad

The next day we worked it out ourselves, finding a ride for us to get it fic.

I'll never forget Steven said as we sat at the back of his car, "If we can get through this, we can get through anything."

Well here we are today.

Married 3 years.

A new baby!

A new house.

We've made it. And although this is such a silly story to laugh at now. It will definitely be one for the children and grandchildren.

I guess I had to knock Steven head over heels physically before he actually fell for me emotionally. :)
